Welcoming Chief John Guttierez
Please join us in welcoming Chief John Guttierez, who has officially returned to serve as Chief of School Police for San Bernardino City Unified School District as of March 16.
Chief Guttierez brings more than three decades of law enforcement experience and a deep connection to our community. Most recently serving as Chief of Police at Cal State San Bernardino, he has led efforts to strengthen campus safety, improve emergency preparedness and build meaningful partnerships both on and off campus.
His career includes service with both the Los Angeles School Police Department and SBCUSD Police Department, where he served as a sergeant under now-retired chief Joseph Paulino and helped implement safety initiatives that continue to benefit students and staff today.
We are excited to welcome Chief Guttierez back home to SBCUSD, where his experience, vision and dedication will continue to support the safety and success of our students, staff and families.

Our Mission

Our Mission: To unite the Pastors of the City of San Bernardino to equip, empower, and encourage them to preach the Gospel, make disciples of Jesus Christ, love, serve, influence and impact the spiritual, social, economic, and overall well-being and progress of the city, the nation and the world.
Objectives: Our objectives are to develop safer communities by strengthening relationships between the community residents, the church and law enforcement agencies, through networking resources with community partners for the purpose of bringing healing, change and progress.
The Pastors of San Bernardino are the spiritual leaders of the Inland Empire. They came together to provide spiritual aid to the victims of the Inland Regional Center on December 2nd 2015, where insurgents took the lives of 17 innocent people.
Pastor Marco Garcia was elected President on January of 2025. With a strong background in leadership development, and a desire to help pastors to become stronger and better equipped, he begin focusing on making disciples, believing this would decrease crisis, develop the community and create stronger civic engagement. To God be the glory!
SBPU has a four-prong strategy to help the community based on areas of: 1-Church Engagement 2-Crisis Response, 3-Community 4- Civic Engagement.
